The Happiest Serious Girl I Know

This afternoon my neighbor's daughter was over for a bit. She is the most beautiful, easy-going, happy, polite, friendly child... all things you'd want in a daughter. Just one problem... anytime I take out the camera- the smile is gone!! She quickly becomes very serious. She is most than agreeable to look at me, but the happy spirit doesn't shine through as long as I'm looking at her through a lens. Anyway, when she was here today I was DETERMINED to get some shots that show this girl's smiley side! I was thrilled to get a couple that I just love...

Summer Loves

This summer has felt a bit odd to me... maybe it is because I'm working more than usual (I was pretty used to summer's off after years of being a teacher), or maybe because it has been just downright cold, or maybe because we were gone for 3 weeks in a row, but whatever the reason... I just haven't gotten into my summer groove yet! Finally this week, life is beginning to feel "normal" while we do normal summer things; friends over for a BBQ, making homemade lemonade, attending our town carnival, playing in the sprinker, trips to the pool and sleeping in. I've discovered that lately my schedule is so full of photo shoots, that in between those times, I've been too lazy to photography my own kiddos. So this week I was determined to pull out the camera and snap a couple shots of my loves this summer. Here is Emma, with her 7-year-old toothless grin. Her smile lately brings back memories of her gummy infant smile!

Here are Isabel and Emma goofing off in the yard. They are such good friends, we are so lucky to have built in playmates in our house! We don't always really get their sense of humor, but they sure can make each other laugh... Hope to have lots more normal summer moments to come in August, still need to check off making s'mores, evening walks around the neighborhood, and getting at least one sunburn off my "summer must-do's" list. Also, must get some photos of Isabel showing off her new swimming skills, so fun to watch her fly down the big waterslides! Stay tuned...

Celebrating Senior Year!

I'm loving doing senior pictures this summer- I'm always so honored to get to take such special "milestone" pictures. This girl is absolutely gorgeous and was so comfortable in front of the camera. The two hours with her went by so fast and I felt like we could keep shooting forever! Thanks for a great afternoon Marie- it was great meeting you and good luck in your senior year!!

Twice the Fun!

There really isn't much cuter than 16-month-old twins, and these two were no exception. Oh, I could just devour their cheeks! :) These two weren't so sure they were wanting their pictures taken and kept me on my toes, but I love these shots of their little faces and big personality.

It was really tough getting any shots of them together, but managed to get this one with them both looking up. Look fast, because it only last a mili-second!

Little Miss {K}

This little beauty cracked me up the whole time I was with her. She had the biggest smile and the funniest fake laugh to go along with it. She was such an easy going little girl, basically just sat still where ever we placed her. So glad I got a chance to meet her and capture her cute little face on camera!

The {O} Kids

I'm so excited to post pictures of these stunning children! When their mom contacted me and said her children were half-Indian and she would like some photos in traditional Indian clothing, I was so excited! They look just beautiful. We ended with all-American outfits and of course they were cute as ever then too. :) Both these kids were so well-behaved and a dream to work with. Hope I get to come photograph them again soon! What a great afternoon with them!

Welcome To Our World Giovana!

I was thrilled to get to take the first photos of my friend Aimee's baby girl, Giovana. She is absolutely beautiful, the perfect little pink chubby cheeks. :) Can't wait to photograph more of this sweet baby once she is home from the hospital.
